Special High-Level Meeting of the
Economic and Social Council

Thomas Mims, CEO of Emerging Africa Ltd., participated in the Special High-level Meeting of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) with the Bretton Woods institutions, the World Trade Organization and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development in New York, April 18 2005.

Attending as a representative from the business sector, Mr. Mims' recommendations were for a more active role for capital markets in the development of Africa and the developing world. His recommendations were included in the summary of the proceedings by the President of the ECOSOC, Mr. Munir Akram.
